COURSE DESCRIPTION

This program will provide practicing surgical and medical oncologists a multidisciplinary approach to the practice of breast cancer management with incorporation of molecular biologic translation from the laboratory to the clinician.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The primary goal of this conference continues to be... “What can you learn that you can use Monday morning and what can you look forward to on Friday?”. In addition, upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • review the management of Benign Breast Disease
  • be aware of the advances in breast cancer research and their clinical implications
  • describe the natural history and progression of premalignant to malignant lesions and recognize the role of prevention
  • review the Management of DCIS, invasive, locally advanced and metastatic breast cancer
  • be aware of novel surgical techniques and newer systemic therapies in breast cancer management • demonstrate proficiency in bringing the patient into the decision-making process
ACCREDITATION

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Medical Education Collaborative and Miami Cancer Conference, Inc. Medical Education Collaborative, a nonprofit education organization, is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Medical Education Collaborative designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21.50 hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Accreditation Certificates will be mailed to attendees by Medical Education Collaborative. NOTE: It is necessary for you to complete an evaluation form and sign the official roster in order to claim maximum CME credit hours.

Evaluation forms will be placed on the tables in the Lecture Hall each day of the Conference. Additional forms can be obtained at the Registration Desk. The Official Roster is located, in alphabetical order, on tables in front of the Registration Center outside the Americana Ballroom.
